Every family has beloved memories of piling in the car and heading to the local ice cream parlor. As such, it is only fitting that Soc’s Ice Cream has been family owned since its humble beginning. Originally established as the Lynn Fells Dairy Bar in 1977, the business evolved after being purchased by a gentleman named Socrates, who gave it the current name of Soc’s (of course, short for Socrates, not a mis-spelling of sox, as in our beloved Red Sox).
Continuing the family ownership, longtime Saugonians Sharon and Paul Cacciola acquired Soc’s in May of 2016. Sharon and Paul, along with their son Stephen, who had the privilege of working at Soc’s under the tutelage of the Calakoutis family for seven years, enjoy providing the same delicious homemade ice cream with those delicious homemade waffle cones, slush, and sherbets.
With Stephen’s extensive knowledge and experience in making ice cream, not only can you expect the same traditional flavors that you have come to love, but also expect to be delighted with some new creative offerings to keep your mouth watering all season long.
